Philadelphia Police Detective Allegedly Distributing Sciroxx Brand Anabolic Steroids

A major anabolic steroid distribution ring involving at least 15 individuals and three law enforcement officers was dismantled in Philadelphia after an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Philadelphia Police Department, and the United States Postal Inspection Service.

The purported ringleader was identified as Philadelphia police Detective Keith Gidelson. Gidelson, along with his wife, allegedly distributed anabolic steroids, human growth hormone (hGH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IFG-1) to fellow Philadelphia police officers, internet customers contacted via bodybuilding forums, and steroid dealers at local gyms and supplement stores.

Gidelson allegedly purchased Sciroxx brand steroids products from “Karl” in Europe as well as human growth hormone from “Roger” in China. He communicated with foreign suppliers using Hushmail and Safemail email accounts. The performance-enhancing drugs were all shipped to a co-defendant in California where they were repackaged and forwarded to Gidelson. Some of the specific products identified include Testodex Enthanthate 250, Testodex Cypionate 250, Nandrodex 300 and Trenadex Enanthate 200.

Gidelson and his co-defendants face 17 counts related to the operation of the steroid-dealing enterprise.
