NFL Football Player Shawne Merriman Denies Smuggling Anabolic Steroids

Patrick Moran, of the Buffalo Sports Daily, reported that Buffalo Bills linebacker Shawne Merriman was caught smuggling anabolic steroids across the United States – Canadian border. Moran, citing a “reliable source close to the situation”, claims that Merriman was detained by United States Customs and Border Patrol in the early morning hours of July 28, 2011 during which anabolic steroids were found on his possession. Random Steroid Testing on Any Given Sunday in the NFL

Players in the National Football League (NFL) will be subject to random in-season testing for anabolic steroids during the upcoming season. The game day steroid testing will begin on September 8, 2011 when the New Orleans Saints visit the Green Bay Packers for the first preseason game of the NFL season.

Canadian Football Player Suggests Media Misrepresented Facts in Steroid Case

Jordan Matechuk publicly apologized to the Canadian Football League, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats franchise and his friends and family a few days after pleading guilty to the possession of anabolic steroids and marijuana.  Matechuk was arrested after customs officials busted him  in possession of 543 steroid tablets and 263 milliliters of injectable steroids. His attorney advised him to avoid answering questions while his legal case was still pending. Canadian Football League Yawns as Player Pleads Guilty to Steroid Possession

Canadian football player Jordan Matechuk has pleaded guilty to the possession of anabolic steroids and marijuana after being busted with significant quantities of steroids by the United States Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) at the United States – Canada international border.  Matechuk faces up to two years imprisonment on the felony steroid count and up to one year on the misdemeanor marijuana count. Christian Anti-Steroid Company Allegedly Spikes Supplements with Methyltestosterone

United States District Judge Rodney W. Sippel in Missouri awarded $5.4 million to a professional football player in a case involving a “tainted” dietary supplement. St. Louis Ram linebacker David Vobora filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the Ultimate Sports Spray alleging that a “velvet deer antler” supplement caused him to test positive for methyltestosterone metabolites. Methyltestosterone is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the NFL Policy on Anabolic Steroids and Related Substance. [Read more…]

Canadian Football League Player Busted Importing Large Quantities of Anabolic Steroids

A player for the Canadian Football League (CFL) was busted with significant quantities of anabolic steroids by the United States Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).  Jordan Matechuk played four years with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats football team as a long-snapper. He was returning to Hamilton (Ontario) from Alberta when he was stopped for a secondary inspection while attempting to cross the International Bridge in Sault Sainte Marie (Michigan). He was busted with 543 oral anabolic steroid pills and 262 milliliters of injectable anabolic steroids in his possession. Many people will question why he was taking this quantity of steroids back to Hamilton, the home of the Tiger-Cats football team.
