Olympic Steroid User Marion Jones Invited to Be United States Diplomat

Former Olympic champion and admitted steroid user Marion Jones has been invited to become a diplomat for the United States State Department. Apparently, governemnt officials felt her story of “redemption” after being less-than-truthful about her history of steroid use would be a source of inspiration for children in Eastern Europe.

Ryan Rowlands, a public affairs officer at the United States Embassy in Serbia, thought the former steroid user would be the perfect spokesperson  for the “Take a Break” program. [Read more…]

Steroids Used by All 100 Meter Finalists at Sydney Olympics

BALCO founder Victor Conte recently claimed that all eight sprinters in the 100 meter final at the 2000 Sydney Olympics were guilty of using anabolic steroids. Conte made the allegations in an interview with the Agence France-Presse (AFP). Maurice Greene, Ato Boldon, Obadele Thompson, Darren Campbell, Dwain Chambers, Aziz Zakari, Jon Drummond and Kim Collins were the finalist in that event. [Read more…]

Super Granny Banned for Anabolic Steroid Use

The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has banned 68-year old grandmother Kathy Jager for two years. The popular masters track star tested positive to for anabolic steroids during a doping control at the 2011 USA National Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Berea, Ohio on July 28, 2011. Germany Spies on Steroid Users with Trojan Horse

A German bodybuilder identified as “Dimitry A” is currently serving a 4-1/2 year prison sentence for the distribution of anabolic steroids.  He was arrested in February 2010 after German investigators used a Trojan horse program to infiltrate his personal computer.

This type of computer surveillance has been used as a last resort for serious threats posed by criminals who use cyber-communications such as militant terrorists (and now apparently steroid dealers). [Read more…]

Steroid Use Rampant in Sport of Kabaddi

The use of anabolic steroids appears to be rampant in the sport of kabaddi. Nineteen out of 51 urine samples tested positive for anabolic steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) during India’s selection trials for the Kabaddi World Cup.

Kabaddi players were busted using a wide variety of steroids including Winstrol (stanozolol), Dianabol (methendienone), trenbolone, Masteron (drostanolone) and Deca Durabolin (nandrolone decanoate). [Read more…]

Jordan Berza and Christopher Gass, the owners of Planet Nutrition, have seen business boom at their sports nutrition and smoothie stores. The entrepreneurs have opened three corporately-owned stores over the past few years and have franchised fifteen additional store throughout Louisiana. Business has been good. Steroids Blamed for Bodybuilder’s Death as Olympics Approach

A 23-year old man died of unknown causes at Eastbourne District General Hospital shortly after being admitted. Lewis Allan was feeling ill in the early morning hours of October 10, 2011 and was rushed to the hospital.

Since Allan was a bodybuilder who had used anabolic steroids, Sussex Police are operating on the assumption that steroids caused or contributed to his death. Allan had reportedly gained over 50 pounds while using anabolic steroids during the past year. [Read more…]
