Bay County Sheriff’s Office Warns About Anabolic Steroids Contaminated with Fungus

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has suggested that possible contamination at an underground laboratory (UGL) that manufactured anabolic steroids could lead to fungal meningitis. After a six-month investigation, the BCSO recently arrested three individuals who operating the UGL known as Spartan Laboratories. Alex Rodriguez Injury Blamed on Steroids

The issue of anabolic steroids came up shortly after the New York Yankees announced that third baseman Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez was having surgery to repair an injured hip. Some sports writers were compelled to search for a link between steroids and the type of injury sustained by Rodriguez. Steroids Blamed for Jovan Belcher Murder-Suicide

Larry Fine, a sports reporter for Reuters, recently acknowledged that the reasons behind the Kansas City Chiefs Jovan Belcher murder-suicide may never be known. But he felt free to speculate about three possible causes. The Guinness World Records company recently recognized Massachusetts bodybuilder Moustafa Ismail as the holder of the world’s “Largest Arms” category in the 2013 edition of the popular Guinness Book of World Records. Marine on Steroids on Trial for Murder of Toddler

A former United States Marine, accused of murdering an 18-month old girl, had been using anabolic steroids in the months preceding the toddler’s death. Joshua Allen Kruzik is on trial facing one count of murder and one count of assault on a child causing death in the case of Audrey Allen. Audrey died from extensive head injuries at the Loma Linda University Medical Center on November 20, 2012. [Read more…]

The Times of India website recently published a news story that did its best to demonize anabolic steroids. The was clear from reading the headline alone – ‘Steroids Can Kill’. The article blamed the death of twenty-eight year old Dev Luthra on a fatal overdose of steroids. Luthra allegedly experimented with steroids for the first time before his wedding. He had hoped that the physique-enhancement drugs would help him tone his abdominals to achieve a defined ‘six-pack’. Instead of achieving a six-pack, Luthra ended up dead. [Read more…]
