Mike Piazza Thinks Roger Clemens Used Steroids According to His Wife

Mike Piazza, a former Major League Baseball catcher, believes Roger Clemens used anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) if his wife is to be believed. While a TMZ cameraman was attempting to interview Piazza, his wife interrupted and told TMZ that her husband beleived Clemens used steroids. TMZ speculated that Alicia Rickter, an actress and model who posed nude as the 500th Playboy Playmate as Miss October 1995, was under the influence of alcohol when she put Piazza in the awkward situation. Steroid Scandal at Singapore Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation

The president of the Singapore Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (SBBF) has admitted to dispensing advice regarding the use of anabolic steroids. While the widespread use of steroids, human growth hormone (hGH) and other muscle-building drugs is well-known in the world of bodybuilding, local news websites are treating the revelation involving SBBF President Rano Izhar as something of a scandal. UKAD Finally Catches Boxer Using EPO After He Used Steroids and hGH for Six Years

Heavyweight boxer Larry ‘War Machine’ Olubamiwo used a variety of anabolic steroids, human growth hormone (hGH), insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) and other performance-enhancing drugs over a period of six years as a steroid-tested athlete. He was finally caught by the anti-doping police after a boxing match with Sam Sexton on January 13, 2012. Anti-doping testers didn’t catch him for using steroids. Instead, Olubamiwo tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO). EPO is the blood boosting drug which became a household name thanks to its rampant use among professional cyclists. [Read more…]

Victor Conte’s Steroid Advice Ignored by World Anti-Doping Agency

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) ignored advice intended to help the agency catch more athletes guilty of using steroids and performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) according to Victor Conte. Even worse, rather than heed his advice, WADA did the opposite. This made it easier for steroid-using athletes to evade detection at the the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. [Read more…]

Olympics Plagued by Granddaddy of Steroids According to Victor Conte

Victor Conte, the founder of the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative (BALCO), recently claimed that the 2012 Summer Olympics in London will be far from free of anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). In an interview with Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle, Conte discussed the serious flaws in the current Olympic anti-doping testing system and the performance-enhancing drug of choice for athletes in London. Anabolic Steroids Cause Swelling of the Brain According to Times of India

The Times of India website recently published a news story that did its best to demonize anabolic steroids. The was clear from reading the headline alone – ‘Steroids Can Kill’. The article blamed the death of twenty-eight year old Dev Luthra on a fatal overdose of steroids. Luthra allegedly experimented with steroids for the first time before his wedding. He had hoped that the physique-enhancement drugs would help him tone his abdominals to achieve a defined ‘six-pack’. Instead of achieving a six-pack, Luthra ended up dead. [Read more…]

Canadian Competitive Bodybuilder Who Sold Steroids Sentenced to Five Years Prison

Reiner Ruska, a 36- year old Canadian amateur bodybuilder, pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking anabolic steroids and cocaine and one count of possessing more than $70,000 in proceeds from drug trafficking. Ruska was sentenced to five years in prison after defense attorney David Rose and federal prosecutor Lisa Matthews submitted a joint recommendation on his behalf. [Read more…]

Sprinter Debbie Dunn Tests Positive for Steroids, Quits Olympic Team

American sprinter Debbie Dunn tested positive for anabolic steroids during an anti-doping test administered at the United States Olympic Trials in Eugene (Oregon) on June 24, 2012. Dunn recorded an elevated testosterone:epitestosterone ratio (T:E ratio) that exceeded the 4:1 ratio allowed under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code. An elevated T:E ratio is a putative indicator of exogenous testosterone use. [Read more…]

Sports Doctor Linked to Lance Armstrong Allegedly Created Secret Steroid-Olive Oil Mixture

The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has accused an Italian sports doctor of formulating a secret anabolic steroid concoction for seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong and several other professional cyclists. Dr. Michele Ferrari, along with two other doctors, allegedly conspired with Lance Armstrong to traffic and administer performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).
