Annual Steroid Seizures Double Again in Australia

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service has made more seizures of anabolic steroids and human growth hormone (hGH) during the past financial year than any other year in the history of the agency. The Sunday Mail newspaper revealed that steroid seizures have increased over 500 percent over the past five years; the number of parcels containing steroids and hGH double in each of the past two years. Women’s mixed martial artist Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos has finally publicly responded to her positive Winstrol test result. The response came in the form of a “steroid awareness speech” filmed by MMAPrime.tv. Mixed martial artist Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for nine months and fined $39,000 for a positive steroid test result. Lawal tested positive for the anabolic steroids drostanolone aka Masteron at the “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” event on January 7, 2012. Lawal denied intentionally using steroids. [Read more…]

Evidence Illegally Obtained in Operación Galgo Steroid Investigation

The Spanish courts continue to thwart anti-doping officials with their latest ruling on a major anti-doping investigation. The Audiencia Provincial de Madrid ruled that evidence seized in the Operación Galgo case was obtained illegally. Consequently, the anabolic steroids, stored blood and medical equipment used for transfusions seized by steroid investigators could not be used to prosecute any of the defendants on doping charges. Anabolic Steroids Blamed for Road Rage Attack in England

The “roid rage” defense strategy has emerged again in Hampshire (England) as a man accused of punching another  man in the face during a “road rage” incident appeared before a judge for sentencing. Michael Barton was sentenced to a 6-month suspended jail sentence and £500 compensation to the victim along with £277 for the damage to the victim’s vehicle. [Read more…]
