Danish model and actress Brigitte Nielsen, who is probably best known for her 19-month marriage to Sylvester Stallone, made her debut on the German version of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” broadcasted by RTL Television on January 13, 2012. Ramona Leiß, another celebrity appearing on “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!”, didn’t waste any time asking her about sex with Stallone and questioning her about the effects of anabolic steroids on testicular size. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson: MMA Fighters Who Use Steroids are Not True Fighters

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Mo “King Mo” Lawal have displayed a great deal of animosity for each other over the past few years.  Lawal hasn’t taken kindly to being called “Queen Mo” among other things by Jackson. Lawal summed up the state of their relationship when he told The MMA Hour that “I don’t like him, he don’t like me!”

So it comes as no surprise that Jackson wouldn’t miss an opportunity to comment on “King Mo’s” positive steroid test. Lawal tested positive for Masteron during the post-fight drug screen at the “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” event on January 7, 2012.  [Read more…]

Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal Tests Positive for Steroid Masteron

Another Strikeforce mixed martial artist tested positive for anabolic steroids this week. The Nevada State Athletic Commission announced that Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal tested positive for the anabolic steroids drostanolone at the “Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine” event on January 7, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Drostanolone is more commonly known amongst bodybuilders and athletes by its trade name Masteron. Lawal went on recored denying the use of steroids. [Read more…]

Steroids + Female MMA = Twitter Catfight?

UFC President Dana White may have prematurely announced the end of the female featherweight division in Strikeforce. White told ESPN Radio Las Vegas that Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos’ positive steroid test results would mark the end of the division. “[Cyborg Santos is] getting stripped of the title. This pretty much kills the division,” according to White.

Maybe White didn’t anticipate the extra publicity resulting from the Winstrol metabolites discovered in Santos’ urine sample. He certainly didn’t anticipate the heated war of the words on Twitter between some of female mixed martial arts’ biggest stars. [Read more…]

Gina Carano Talks Steroids and Women’s Mixed Martial Arts

Gina Carano was once the “face of women’s MMA” when she faced Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos for the first-ever Strikeforce Women’s Championship contested at the 145 weight class on August 15, 2009. The Unified Women’s MMA Rankings listed her as the third-ranked 145-pound female mixed martial artist in the world.

Carano was told that “Cyborg” was using anabolic steroids but Carano didn’t want to consider that possibility as she entered the biggest contest of her MMA career. The fight was broadcast live on Showtime directly from San Jose (California). It was the first time two women headlined a major MMA event. [Read more…]

Owner of Steroid UGL Who Led Feds to Musclebear Goes to Prison

The man who lead United States authorities to the popular steroid source “Musclebear” has been sentenced to prison this week. Paul Matthews, the owner of Matthew Training Systems who manufactured anabolic steroids in an underground lab (UGL) on the side, was sentenced to 15 months in prison and three years parole by U.S. District Judge Donetta W. J.C. Romero Still Guilty of Steroid Offense Even Though He Thinks He’s Vindicated

Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher J.C. Romero has claimed victory in a lawsuit following an undisclosed cash settlement with the manufacturers and distributors of Ergopharm 6-OXO Extreme. Romero tested positive for the use of anabolic steroids under the Major League Baseball (MLB) Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program on August 26, 2008. The steroid positive came only six weeks prior to helping the Phillies win the World Series championship. [Read more…]
