Lifetime Wellness Owner Pleads Guilty to Distributing Anabolic Steroids

The owner of Lifetime Wellness LLC, an anti-aging clinic in Missouri, has pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy that distributed approximately 1.3 million dosage units of anabolic steroids. MMA Chael Sonnen Defends Alistair Overeem Over Steroid Test

Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Chael Sonnen recently defended UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem against allegations of anabolic steroid use. Overeem record an elevated testosterone: epitestosterone (T:E) ratio prior to a UFC146 press conference. Pathologist Blames Anabolic Steroids for Acute Heart Failure

Australian Bodybuilder Busted with Large Amount of Steroids Gets Probation

An Australian bodybuilder who was caught trying to import large quantities of anabolic steroid powder has successfully avoided prison with the use of the “bullying defense”. According to an Australian newspaper, Brenton Dowell had imported enough steroid powder to last him for 61 years. Dowell would have been able to use 1000mg/ml per week for six decades. [Read more…]

Environment Secretary’s Son Youngest Briton to Be Banned for Steroid Use

Jonathan “Jonny” Spelman, the teenage son of British Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman, has been banned from playing rugby after being linked to the use of anabolic steroids.  The Rugby Football Union announced that Jonathan has been banned for 21-months from participating in organized team rugby. Spelman will not be permitted to play in any rugby tournament or match until October 19, 2013. Spelman is recognized as the youngest Briton in history to be banned for a doping violation. Roger Clemens Steroid Trial Considered a Waste of Taxpayer Money

The retrial of Roger Clemens officially starts on Monday. Many people feel that the government’s pursuit of the Major League Baseball pitcher is nothing more than a steroid witch-hunt and a colossal waste of taxpayer money. After the first mistrial, United States District Judge Reggie Walton suggested that government counsel may want to reconsider retrying Clemens. Many of the jurors in the first trial apparently shared the sentiment that the trial was a waste of money. A New Hampshire man with a history of violence and steroid-related arrests has shot five police officers and killed the police chief of the small sea-coastal community of Greenland. Anthony Galea, a Toronto-based sports doctor, will not be prosecuted in Canada for charges related to selling performance-enhancing drugs according to the Canadian Public Prosecution Service. Cincinnati Women Sentenced to Five Years in Prison for Helping Fiance Sell Steroids

Jessica Howard of Cincinnati was sentenced to five year in prison for her role as an accomplice in drug ring that trafficked anabolic steroids. Her attorney Frank Schiavone, Jr. claimed that Howard had no involvement whatsoever in the steroid ring. He argued that Howard’s only crime was being engaged to the real mastermind of the operation.
