Government Holds Supplement Retailers Responsible for Selling Synthetic Steroids

There was a time when many sports supplement retailers would offer practically any popular supplement for sale in their stores regardless of the legality of its contents. It didn’t matter if the supplement contained illegal synthetic steroids. The owner of the supplement store operated under the assumption that the company that made the supplements would ultimately hold all responsibility for its ingredients. Supplement retailers didn’t ask why the supplements they sold gave their customers all of the side effects of illegal anabolic steroids. They often didn’t care because they didn’t think they were liable. That has clearly changed.

Baseball Hall of Fame Makes Its Anti-Steroid Position Official

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown has made its anti-steroid position official. It has launched an anti-steroid education exhibit called the “Be A Superior Example” (BASE) Program this month. Nonetheless, a Hall spokesperson claims that the Hall will remain neutral when it comes to honoring baseball players who have used anabolic steroids. [Read more…]

Belarusian Shot Putter Claims Former Coach Framed Her for Olympic Steroid Positive

Belarusian shot putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk has accused a former coach of “framing” her for a positive steroid test at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Ostapchuk won the gold medal in the women’s shot put but her victory was short-lived after she tested positive for metenolone. Melk-Maids Disappointed Over Steroid Positive for Melky Cabrera

Melky Cabrera, a 27-year old Major League Baseball player for the San Francisco Giants, tested positive for the use of the anabolic steroid testosterone. Testosterone is the primary androgen produced by the human body. Cabrera was suspended for fifty games as a result of his first violation of the MLB’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program steroid testing program. [Read more…]

Olympic Gold Medalist Shocked That She Was Caught Using Steroids

Belarusian shot putter Nadzeya Ostapchuk was stripped of her gold medal for winning the women’s shot put at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The results of anti-doping tests containing the steroid positive arrived shortly after the two-week Olympic games concluded. Malcolm Gladwell Disappoints in Latest Steroid Discussion

Malcolm Gladwell, the best-selling author of The Tipping Point and Outliers, provided an uncharacteristically disappointing discussion of anabolic steroids in sports with Nicholas Thompson for the New Yorker Magazine. Gladwell and Thompson chatted about various sports issues during the 2012 London Olympics. Baseball Hall of Fame Loses Credibility If Steroid Users Not Included

Rafael Palmeiro thinks that the Baseball Hall of Fame loses credibility if it fails to include two baseball players linked to anabolic steroids. Palmeiro would consider it a great honor if he were elected to the Hall of Fame but he has accepted that he will likely never be inducted into Cooperstown because of his positive steroid test for Winstrol. Chinese Steroid Doctor Suspects Michael Phelps Used Steroids

Chen Zhanghao, a former top physician for the Chinese Olympic team, told the international press that he has long suspected Michael Phelps of using anabolic steroids. But given the complete lack of evidence support such a suspicion, he has kept quiet until now.
