Jose Canseco Has Steroids, Shaquille O’Neal Has “Frosted Flakes”

Jose Canseco and Shaquille O’Neal have informally been discussing the possibility of fighting in a mixed martial arts (MMA) bout. O’Neal originally suggested the idea last year but Canseco only recently started taking him seriously. Many people have speculated that Canseco is in need of money since his comeback attempt with the Triple-A Quintana Roo Tigres of the Mexican Baseball League has temporarily been postponed.

Canseco’s signing by the Quintana Roo Tigres was contingent on passing a steroid test. But he must first justify his doctor-prescribed use of testosterone cypionate and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). While Canseco waits for the Mexican Baseball League to decide on his fate, the former MLB player has taken to Twitter to taunt O’Neal.

“I challenged him a long time ago. If he wants it done, he knows where to find me,” O’Neal told Reuters that he is ready to fight Canseco.

And O’Neal apparently doesn’t mind if Canseco brings anabolic steroids to the dance. Shaq has his own secret weapon that he thinks will neutralize any performance-enhancing effects experienced by Canseco from his use of testosterone cypionate.

“He can be high off whatever, and I’ll be high off Frosted Flakes,” revealed O’Neal.

Canseco had been scheduled to fight fellow former MLB player Lenny Dykstra last fall. Like Canseco, Dykstra had also been linked to anabolic steroids when he played professional baseball.

In the book “The Zeroes: My Misadventures in the Decade Wall Street Went Insane“, author Randall Lane alleged that Dykstra admitted using steroids. Dykstra reportedly told Lane that he and Jose Canseco led the steroid revolution in baseball.

Jeff Scott, a Florida bodybuilder and convicted steroid dealer, alleged that he sold Dykstra approximately $20,000 worth of performance-enhancing drugs. He also claimed to have injected Dykstra with anabolic steroids on several occasions.

But the fight with Dyksra never happened because Dykstra was indicted by federal prosecutors on several felony counts involving grand theft auto, filing false financial statements and identity theft last summer. He was also charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance related to his human growth hormone (hGH).

Shaq offered to step in and replace Dykstra when the Dykstra went to jail. He contacted UFC president Dana White and asked him to arrange the bout. “What up Dana white I wanna fight jose conseco [sic] hook it up.”

Canseco has accepted the challenge. He had previously suggested a four-man MMA tournament title “Beef Bash 1” that would have also included former NFL player Herschel Walker and former boxer Mike Tyson.

There has been no word on whether this is still a possibility.

Canseco apparently enjoys fighting 7-foot giants. Canseco lost his very first MMA fight against 7-foot, 2-inch South Korean Hong Man Choi in 2009. Shaquille O’Neal is 7-foot, 1-inch and approximately 35o pounds. Canseco weighs about 100 pounds less.
