Mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Chael Sonnen recently defended UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem against allegations of anabolic steroid use. Overeem record an elevated testosterone: epitestosterone (T:E) ratio prior to a UFC146 press conference. UFC heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem no longer has plausible deniability when it comes to allegations that Overeem has used anabolic steroids to build his massively-muscled physique. For the first time, the number one UFC heavyweight contender has tested positive for anabolic steroids. Many people believed that steroids were the most likely explanation for his dramatic transformation from  a 185 pound 17-year old to a 260 pound heavyweight mixed martial artist. Josh “The Babyface Assassin” Barnett, a former UFC and Pride heavyweight champion, was granted a conditional license to fight again by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). Barnett had tested positive for metabolites of the anabolic steroid commonly known as Masteron in June 2009.
