Libyan Dictator’s Son Used Anabolic Steroids to Play Professional Soccer

One of the sons of deposed dictator Colonel Muammar Gaddafi used anabolic steroids while playing professional soccer in Italy according to several reports. Al-Saadi Al-Gaddafi is reportedly negotiating his surrender after the collapse of his father’s 44-year dictatorship amidst the Libyan civil war. In better times, Saadi played professional soccer for the Italian Series A club Perugia. His 3-season career, consisting of a total of 26 minutes of playing time, has likely come to an end. Italian Steroid Investigation Wants to Convict Cyclist Based on Sound of Ampoule Breaking

Italy’s Anti-Narcotic Group (NAS) continues its aggressive anti-doping investigations of athletes suspected of using anabolic steroids, erythropoeitin and other performancing-enhancing drugs. The latest investigation involving a Mantovana pharmacy is starting to appear like a witch-hunt if cyclist Michael Rasmussen is to be believed. The Mantovana investigation revolves around the sale and use of testosterone, EPO, ephedrine and corticosteroids and has targeted as many as 32 cyclists and team managers. [Read more…]

Cop Who Used Text Messaging to Buy Steroids Pleads Guilty

A Philadelphia Police officer who used text messaging to order illegal steroids has pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids and two counts of possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids. Joseph McIntyre used his cell phone to order anabolic steroids from a friend at the Philadelphia Police Department who happened to moonlight as a steroid dealer. [Read more…]

Several international and national anti-doping agencies have introduced mobile-friendly applications to help athletes comply with the strict anti-doping rules against anabolic steroids and performance-enhancing drugs. The national anti-doping organizations in Ireland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, United States, Germany and South Africa have all announced either mobile versions of their website and/or iPhone apps. Feds Indict Owners of South Beach Rejuvenation and LA Health and Rejuvenation

The owner of a once-popular hormone replacement therapy clinic was arrested this week for the illegal distribution of anabolic steroids over the internet but this was the least of his worries. Jeffrey George started selling steroids through his South Beach Rejuvenation clinic in 2006 but it was his involvement in a chain of Florida pain clinics that has made him the focus of federal investigators. Broward County Sheriff’s deputies are apparently still using steroids. Hollywood (Florida) police detectives arrested David Agosto, a nine-year veteran deputy, after he was observed buying anabolic steroids from a steroid dealer in the Hollywood IHOP restaurant parking lot late one night. Beware Grown Men Who Outgrow Their Clothes Especially If They Use Steroids

A man accused of murdering his ex-wife outgrew his clothes, presumably with the help of anabolic steroids, in the months preceding the murder according to Virginia State Police. Former Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Agee was driving his marked police vehicle when he confronted Jennifer Agee in a parking lot in Roanoke. Jonathan Agee then fatally shot her with an assault rifle from his police cruiser. Agee wounded  state police sergeant Matthew Brannock during a gunfight following a high-speed pursuit by state troopers. [Read more…]

Supplement Store Owner Arrested for Selling Prohormones in Operation Bitter Pill?

A supplement store owner in Staten Island may have been arrested for selling prohormones as part of Operation Bitter Pill suggests a report by Slive.com. Douglas “Big Doug” Birstler, the owner of “D’s Muscle Box”, was charged with the possesssion and sale of controlled substances. Birstler’s Facebook page listed the availability of several popular prohormones that have been the subject of criminal investigations by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). [Read more…]
